FLORAL LUNGS

The floral lungs was the first embroidered artwork from the ‘Nature & Us’ collection. The design is based on an anatomical diagram of human lungs.

The artwork was inspired by Silvia, Goddess of the Forest and the quote ‘Forests are the lungs of the earth’. The design explores how our mental and physical health is improved when we engage with nature in a meaningful way.

The design features flowers and plants that are native to UK woodlands including dog rose, ivy, wood anemone, deadly nightshade berries, scarlet pimpernel, columbine and forget-me-not flowers. Creating the floral lungs took around 100 hours.
